Schuh encourages volunteerism this holiday season

turkeydropoffAnne Arundel County Executive Steve Schuh encourages all citizens to volunteer their time this holiday season to help the less fortunate.

“Thanksgiving and the holiday season provide unique opportunities for citizens to volunteer and help those in need,” said Schuh. “I encourage all citizens of Anne Arundel County to take time and serve their neighbors.”

The County Executive spent last Tuesday afternoon delivering turkeys to the food pantry at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Linthicum. The third Thursday of every month families can visit the pantry for supplies. The pantry averages service for approximately 70 families a month. This November, St. Phillip Neri increased their service to nearly 100 families, which represents around 300 people.

“Every citizen needs to do their part to make this time of year special for those who need it the most,” said Schuh.
