On November 14, 2016 at approximately 11:52 p.m., officers responded to the Marriot Courtyard located at the 2500 block of Riva Road for a carjacking. The investigation determined that the driver of a white Dodge Charger pulled up to the hotel and went inside leaving an adult female passenger in the vehicle and the engine running. A male suspect then quickly got into the driver seat of the vehicle, while a female passenger was still inside. The suspect was irate and began yelling at the female, who in turn exited the vehicle in fear for her safety. The suspect then fled in the vehicle.

Several officers began canvassing the area and a short time later, observed a white male who matched the description kicking a parked, unoccupied vehicle at the Bank of America located in the 2200 block of Forest Drive. Officers were able to take the suspect into custody without further incident. Officers then located the stolen vehicle at a nearby gas station. The vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner. The victim was not injured during the course of the incident. The suspect was charged with carjacking and unauthorized taking of a motor vehicle.

Suspect:

  • Kasra Hojaji
  • DOB 10/03/1973
  • 10000 Block Rockville Pike
  • Rockville, Maryland
