Volunteer teams from regional businesses, governments and organizations will participate in United Way of Central Maryland’s “Day of Action,” an annual community service effort hosted by the local nonprofit, focused on providing area residents with education, health programs and housing & income. Projects will take place in areas United Way of Central Maryland provides services for: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard counties and Baltimore City.
In Anne Arundel County’s The Light House, an organization that helps rebuild lives by providing shelter and services to prevent homelessness and empower people as they transition toward employment, housing and self-sufficiency, volunteers will gather at the support center to assist with the organization’s community lunch program. The volunteer team will be distributing bagged lunches, serving hot lunches and preparing pantry bags as well as sprucing up the facility and landscaping the campus.
