Annapolis Rotary accepting grant applications for distribution of Crab Feast funds

rotary_logoThe Rotary Club of Annapolis will accept grant applications from Sept. 21, 2016, until Dec. 1, 2016, to distribute the proceeds from its 71st annual Crab Feast which was held in August 2016.

The Rotary Club of Annapolis has a long-standing tradition of commitment to the local community. Grant selection is done by a club committee which changes each year to foster a fresh perspective on the community’s greatest needs. In the past the club has supported organizations working in various arenas, including social reform, health care, the environment, and the arts to name a few. Because Annapolis and its environs are the club’s designated service area, the club currently is restricted to disbursing funds within this area only.

Grant money must help the Annapolis community in some demonstrable way, go toward funding specific projects, not be used for the grantee’s operating expenses, result in the improvement of quality of life for the Annapolis community, and touch as many people as possible in a sustainable way. Grants are limited to $4,000.

Applicants may apply for a grant online at www.annapolisrotary.org or by mail using the online application as a template (mail to Grants Committee, Annapolis Rotary Club, P.O. Box 3175, Annapolis, MD 21403). Grant requests will be evaluated and recipients will be notified and receive the grant funds during February and March of 2017. Absolutely no grant applications will be considered unless they are received by e-mail or are postmarked on or before midnight of December 1, 2016.

For information, visit the web site at www.annapolisrotary.org and click on Grant Seekers, or contact Randy Goff, grants chairman, at [email protected] or 410-269-7877.
