Schuh places county business chief on unpaid leave after criminal charges filed

County Executive Steve Schuh today released a statement on the arrest of Anne Arundel County Economic Development Corporation CEO Robert Hannon:

“On Friday September 2nd, our office became aware of pending criminal charges against Anne Arundel County Economic Development Corporation CEO Robert Hannon.

These serious charges against Mr. Hannon are surprising and constitute a need for responsible leadership pending the resolution of his case.  

To ensure that we maintain the trust of Anne Arundel County citizens and continue the work of promoting business growth in the County, I have instructed Chief Administrative Officer Mark Hartzell to serve as Acting Economic Development Corporation CEO.  Mr. Hannon has been placed on unpaid leave until further notice.   

Mr. Hartzell will perform the duties of acting Anne Arundel County Economic Development Corporation CEO until further notice.”
