If you’re raising a budding drama queen or king, sign them up for a class that will build confidence, teach important skills and burn off the energy pent up from the school week. Offered by Children’s Theatre of Annapolis, an award-winning local performing arts program, all the classes are taught by local professionals that are highly skilled and respected in the local theatre industry.
On this fall’s roster of classes are:
- CTA Harmonix: In the spirit of the hit TV show, “Glee,” this new program teaches vocal technique, harmonization, movement, performance skills and confidence.
- Musical Theatre Dance: Available for ages 5-7 and 8-18, this class introduces performer to the world of Broadway-style dance and, for the older students, builds upon techniques in ballet, tap and jazz.
- Stage Combat: Learn to perform techniques and maneuvers found in basic fight choreography and develop personal command of the body in relation to theatrical physical conflict.
- Audition Workshop: If your child is considering auditioning for any of CTA’s upcoming shows (or any other theatre’s performances!), don’t miss this class on the basics of succeeding at an audition, taught by a veteran Anne Arundel County director.
Additionally, CTA offers a full schedule of musical and non-musical classes caught by Tiffany Shannon Productions, including a session specifically for homeschooled children.
