Adult education programs at Key School

Key SchoolKey School is pleased to announce open registration for the fall Adult Education Programs. All classes and seminars will take place in the evening at Key School and registration is open to all adult community members.

Watercolor Painting
This class is for adult artists beginning to paint in watercolor and for those that would like to “begin again.” Class will meet on the following Mondays from 7:00-9:00 p.m.: September 12, 19, 26, October 10, 17, and 24. Registration is $225 (supplies included) or $180 (supplies not included.)
Ceramic Bells and Chimes
Learn how to make your own unique ceramic bells and chimes from professional ceramic bell-maker and Key School Art Educator, Dawn Malosh. Class will meet on the following Tuesdays from 6:00-7:30 p.m.: September 20, 27, October 4, 11, 18, and 25. Registration is $160 including materials and a firing fee.
Seminar Series for Adults
This year’s Seminar Series theme is Thoughtful Laughter: Satire and Humor from Ancient Greece to Modern Day. Seminars begin September 19 and will meet once per month from 6:30-8:30 p.m. to discuss and debate select works from literature, poetry, and film. Registration is $20 per seminar or $120 for the full series.
LEAD Program: Write Well for Memoirs, Magazines and the Web

Instructed by Capital Gazette columnist, bestselling author, and American University Professor Iris Krasnow, this course is designed to teach the fundamentals of journalistic writing as well as how to market stories to print and online publications. Class will meet Tuesdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m., September 27 – November 8. Registration is $550.
LEAD Program: Authentic Leadership

In this course, students work together to identify and hone their own and each others’ authentic leadership styles. Instructed by Elizabeth Buckman, Vice-President of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, classes will meet Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m. from September 28 – November 9. Registration is $550.
