Schuh appoints former City Alderman as Deputy Liaison to City of Annapolis

Keeping with his commitment to ensuring a close working relationship with the City of Annapolis, County Executive Steve Schuh has appointed Mike Christman as deputy liaison with the City of Annapolis.

“The City and County are now working more collaboratively than ever before,” said Schuh. “Mike Christman has the experience and knowledge to help our two jurisdictions find even better ways to work together to serve our citizens.”  

Christman will serve with Budget Officer John Hammond, who is the chief liaison with the City. In his new volunteer role, Christman will coordinate with the city to create better efficiency through innovation and strategic planning.  

Christman is a senior executive with a long history of public service.  He  grew up in Annapolis and attended St. Mary’s Elementary and High Schools.  He went on the US Naval Academy in the Class of 1985 and served 10 years of active duty as a Naval Aviator.

Upon leaving active duty, he started his corporate career at RWD Technologies, a global consulting firm based in Columbia MD (now GP Strategies), and part of the original team at US Internet Working in its early days in Annapolis. 

He is now the Vice President for Corporate Development for TAM Training, an Oracle training provider.  Christman has served the community in a variety of roles including Alderman of Ward 2 and the President of the West Annapolis Civic Association. His philanthropic endeavors have included funds for the Fisher House, a charity serving the families of wounded warriors, by stand up paddling from Norfolk, Virginia to Annapolis.
