CTAHave you ever wanted to hear a Who? Or sing on-stage alongside Horton the Elephant, too? How about playing the Cat in the Hat? Well, Children’s Theatre of Annapolis can help with that!

Children’s Theatre of Annapolis (CTA) is pleased to welcome young actors ages 12 to 18 (as of the audition date) to audition for Seussical the Musical, a splashy, upbeat production based on the works of Dr. Seuss. Auditions will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 27, and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 28, at CTA’s facility, located at 1661 Bay Head Road, Annapolis, MD 21409.

The show will run from November 11 to 20, 2016, and actors must be willing to commit to the entire show run, as well as the rehearsal time period that starts in September. To audition, prepare 16 to 32 bars of a Broadway-style song, and bring along sheet music, a compact disc or digital recording for accompaniment. A piano accompanist will be provided; do not bring background music with vocals. Additionally, participants should wear attire appropriate for dance and be prepared to read from the script.

CTA is in its 57th year of providing high-quality children’s performances and theatre education for youth in the Annapolis region. The theatre encourages young adults of all backgrounds to audition for its production. This year, 2016, is the 10-year anniversary of CTA’s first successful production of Seussical the Musical.
