Baysox 2016The Baysox used consecutive RBI-triples from Adrian Marin and Julio Borbon in the eleventh inning in a three-run rally that propelled Bowie to an exciting 4-1 win at The Diamond over Richmond Saturday night.

Bowie put 16 men on base in the first eight innings but had just one run to show for it before the final rally. Tied at 1 in the 11th inning the Baysox went to work against reliever Rodolfo Martinez. With one on and one down, Adrian Marin lined a triple to the wall in right field to give Bowie the lead. Marin then came home as the following batter, Julio Borbon tripled to right-center. And he later scored on a Chance Sisco sacrifice fly. The three-run rally gave Bowie a 4-1 lead.

Bowie got a solid five inning effort from Jason Garcia who did not walk a batter for a second consecutive start. He left with the Baysox trailing 1-0. Parker Bridwell then went three scoreless innings before Scott McGough worked two scoreless innings for the win (2-0).

Bowie tied the game in the seventh on an RBI-double from Drew Dosch but a double play ended the rally. In the eighth inning, the Baysox had runners at the corners and no outs but failed to score.

Jimmy Yacabonis worked a 1-2-3 ninth striking out the side for his fourth save. Julio Borbon stole three bases to set an individual high for a single game for the Baysox this season. Bowie has won two straight extra-inning games after starting the year 2-9 in those contests.

The rubber match will be at 12:05 p.m. in Richmond with John Means battling the heat in Richmond. Coverage will begin 20-minutes prior on 1430-AM WNAV and on 99.9 FM in Annapolis.

The Baysox return home to pickup a previous scheduled series for the road with the Hartford Yard Goats from Tuesday, August 16 to Thursday, August 18. For tickets and info on the series call 301-805-6000 or head online to baysox.com.
