Baysox shutout for 2nd time in series with Richmond

baysoxFor a second time in three games, the Baysox were shutout by Richmond as Bowie dropped the series finale 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. Flying Squirrels starters threw 21 scoreless innings in the series.

Sunday’s Richmond starter Cory Taylor worked the seven scoreless frames for his first Eastern League win. It was his second league start.

Bowie got a solid start from John Means (4-6) who worked six innings allowing two runs, with one earned in defeat. Means was able to minimize the damage in both the first and third innings but could not get any run support.

The Baysox got a three-hit day from Drew Dosch. Tucker Nathans also notched a multi-hit game with a double in a two hit afternoon. Bobby Bundy allowed a run in two innings in his first appearance off of the disabled list. Bundy’s outing was his first since July 26th.

The Baysox return home to pickup a previous scheduled series for the road with the Hartford Yard Goats from Tuesday, August 16 to Thursday, August 18. Tuesday will be a 6:35 p.m. start with Brandon Barker on the hill.
