Terdoslavich slugs it out for Baysox win

baysoxThe Baysox got a big night from their bullpen and a clutch two-out RBI double in the tenth inning from Joey Terdoslavich in a dramatic 3-2 win in ten innings in Akron Saturday night. The Baysox relieving trio of Scott McGough, Donnie Hart and Jimmy Yacabonis combined for 4 and 1/3rd innings of scoreless work.

Bowie broke the tie in the tenth inning after Drew Dosch earned a walk in an eight pitch at-bat. Earlier though in the plate appearance, Dosch hit a pop-up near the Akron dugout. On the run, Akron third baseman Joe Sever could not make the catch and it was ruled an error. With Dosch at first, Sharlon Schoop placed a sacrifice bunt to get Dosch second base. Sisco grounded out to move Dosch to third and then Terdoslavich came through.

Terdoslavich got into a breaking ball sending it into the gap in right-center field to bring the Baysox on top 3-2.

Bowie led the game early as Dosch led off the contest with a double and later scored on a Terdoslavich SAC Fly. Quincy Latimore then launched his 11th home run of the year in the fourth inning to put the Baysox on top 2-0. Akron scored two to tie it in the sixth inning.

Starter Matthew Grimes worked 5 and 2/3rd innings allowing just two runs in the no decision. The loss for Akron was their eighth in the last nine games. Terdoslavich now has ten RBI’s in the last five games.

Bowie looks to take three of four from Akron Sunday afternoon as Jayson Aquino gets the start. Coverage begins 20-minutes prior to first pitch on 1430-WNAV and 99.9 FM in Annapolis.

It will be Navy Night presented by the Naval Federal Credit Union on Friday, August 5th when the Baysox return home. The weekend will feature fireworks Friday and Saturday and the Minion Manny Bobblehead Doll on Sunday the 7th. Get tickets now at baysox.com.
