Rotary and Nationals team up to beat polio

rotary_logoThe Washington Nationals and Rotary International including the Annapolis Rotary Club are hosting an End Polio NOW! Ticket Fundraiser at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.  The Nationals will play the Cincinnati Reds.

The general public can join special guest RI President John Germ for the 7th annual End Polio NOW! Night at the Park with special pricing. Five dollars from every ticket sold will benefit Rotary Foundation’s PolioPlus Campaign. A baseline reserved ticket, usually $60, will be sold for $50. A mezzanine ticket, regularly $37, will be sold for $32.

Rotary started the PolioPlus campaign to end polio across the world in 1985. It has joined with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the United Nations World Health Organization, UNICEF, the Center for Disease Control and many countries to wipe out this disease. For example, polio has been defeated in such major areas as Indonesia and India, with only two countries remaining – Afghanistan and Pakistan. More than 600 million children have been immunized around the globe.

This ticket offer is not valid at the box office. No refunds or exchanges will be permitted, and ticket brokers are not eligible for this offer. To purchase tickets, please visit nationals.com/endpolio, or call 202-640-7648 for group sales or more information.
