Psycho Killers returning to Rams Head On Stage

psycho killersSame as it ever was?  Almost! Psycho Killers, a Talking Heads tribute band out of Baltimore, MD, will be bringing their high energy interpretations of Talking Heads classics to one of the area’s premier venues, Rams Head On Stage, on Saturday, June 25th.  The group has performed all over the area including a show with New Wave music pioneer and Talking Heads contemporary, Thomas Dolby, in Baltimore, a sold out Halloween show at the legendary 9:30 Club in Washington, DC with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and dozens of other sold out shows.  Fronted by singer/guitar player, Jon Wood, the band is known to explore the entire catalog of the Talking Heads from the biggest hits – Once In A Lifetime, Burning Down The House, and the band’s namesake, Psycho Killer – as well as deeper cuts from earlier albums.   The band has been playing live for almost 8 years and they continue to gain new fans at every turn.

Founded by Wood along with Ryan Porter (bass) and Paul Weinberg (drums), the band grew from the blossoming Baltimore music scene by a group of musicians who wanted to pay tribute to the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers.  “We all have a deep love for the music of Talking Heads” said Porter, “Their music transcends time and genres and we had never heard of a Talking Heads tribute band”.  From their first show it was clear this band has found a niche. “A lot of our fans never had a chance to see this timeless music in a live setting, which it is perfect for”, added Porter.  “The songs are upbeat and danceable and leave room for interpretation”.

The band takes concertgoers on a musical journey through some of the most iconic songs of the 1980’s.  Wood’s vocals are reminiscent of David Byrne, but at the same time, they allow the music to take them in new and exciting directions.  If you are a casual or diehard Talking Heads fan, this is a special show in an intimate venue that you do not want to miss!
