Marin stays hot for Baysox in 6-2 loss

Baysox 2016Adrian Marin registered another multi-hit night and Quincy Latimore launched a long home run to left but it was not enough as the Baysox dropped the series opener in Altoona, 6-2.

Jason Garcia was in trouble early but minimized the damage. The first two batters reached in each the second and third innings but just one run came around the score. Altoona was able to keep up the trend though and Garcia left with two men aboard and no outs in the sixth.

Bowie grabbed a run on a Glynn Davis RBI-single to score Marin in the seventh inning and Latimore’s ninth inning home run. The shot was a team-leading eighth of the year for Latimore and his 75th career Eastern League home run.

The Baysox have had a tough time getting to Altoona. In their last seven games Bowie has scored 28 runs in three games against Harrisburg and eight runs in four games with Altoona. With the loss, the Baysox finished June with a mark of 14-15.

The series continues Friday, July 1st in Altoona with John Means on the mound for the 7:00 p.m. start. Coverage begins 20-minutes prior on 1430-AM WNAV and 99.9 FM in Annapolis.

Bowie returns home for Independence Day Monday, July 4th at 6:35 p.m. Tickets are selling fast! A huge Fireworks extravaganza follows the game! Purchase over the phone at 301-805-6000 or online at baysox.com.
