Baysox 1K Beer Run next Sunday

| June 19, 2016

beerThe Bowie Baysox annual 1K Beer Run will be held at Prince George’s Stadium Sunday, June 26 prior to the start of the 2:05 p.m. game against the Altoona Curve. Each participant receives one 12 oz. beer at the completion of each of the three laps around the stadium warning track during the race, which will begin at 1:15 p.m.

Tickets for the Baysox 1K Beer Run are $18 (regular-price Baysox Box Seat tickets are $15) and must be purchased in advance at www.baysoxshop.com. Each ticket includes a box seat for the Baysox game, three 12 oz. Bud Light beer tickets and access to the field for the pregame event. Registration is limited to the first 100 participants and the deadline to register is Thursday, June 23 at 5:00 p.m.

Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye helped plan the event. “The 1K Beer Run has become some of our most popular annual events,” Wrye said. “There is no better way to start off a fun afternoon of baseball than getting some exercise and a few drinks down on the field before the game.”

While the winner of the race is rewarded with a first pitch, participants may also jog, walk, stroll or even crawl their three laps around the field while casually enjoying their three beverages.

All participants must at least 21 years of age by the event date and have a valid, government issued photo I.D. to present on the event date. Tickets can be ordered by visiting www.baysoxshop.com.

The 2016 Bowie Baysox season is presented by Money One Federal Credit Union. The Baysox 2016 season is underway. Don’t miss a minute of the action as the Baysox defend their 2015 Eastern League Championship. Single game tickets are now on sale at www.baysox.com.
