Baysox win 3rd straight victory

Baysox 2016The Baysox scored in each of their first five innings to run up a big lead in a decisive 11-5 win in Portland in the series opener on Tuesday night. Bowie got contributions from all over the order, racking up 16 hits in the win.

Tied at 1-apiece in the second inning the Baysox offense went to work. With Drew Dosch at second base and one down, Austin Wynns doubled home the lead run. Glynn Davis then singled and stole second as a misfired throw allowed Wynns the plate. Davis later scored on an RBI-single from Henry Urrutia and Bowie was off and running up 4-1.

Late in the game up 6-2, Adrian Marin got his big night going with a long home run over the “Maine Monster” wall in left field. It was his second home run of the year. Marin finished the night a triple shy of the cycle.

Other big Baysox contributors at the plate included Wynns, who had three hits, Terdoslavich who doubled twice and reached base four times and Urrutia who had three RBI’s. Davis and Dosch each had multi-hit games as well.

David Hess (3-4) gave the Baysox a solid six inning start to end a personal three-game losing streak. Hess allowed two runs on five hits on the night. Jimmy Yacabonis worked a 1-2-3 seventh inning and Genison Reyes looked strong in a ten-pitch eighth before allowing three runs in the ninth.

Bowie now looks to keep their roll going with LHP John Means on the hill for a 7:00 p.m. first pitch Wednesday night from Hadlock Field. Coverage begins 20-minutes prior on wnav.com and via the Tune-In Radio App.
