The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center will be holding their incredibly popular Annual Open House next Saturday, May 14th. This is SERC’s most popular event of the year, and a great way for families to get outside and learn about the Bay while doing fun, hands-on activities with Smithsonian scientists.
Experience the Bay by land, air and water at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center’s annual festival of science! Cruise down the Rhode River, climb the weather tower, go behind the scenes of the green Mathias Lab and visit the new Muddy Creek stream restoration project. You’ll also be able to participate in hands-on activities with Smithsonian scientists, including seining, searching for crabs and oysters and a touch tank. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
The event will be held on Saturday, May 14 fro 10am to 3pm at SERC located at 647 Contees Wharf Road in Edgewater
