Latitude Adjustment Party tickets on sale now

LatitiudeTickets for the Latitude Adjustment Party, a must attend event and fundraiser, are now available at several locations in the Annapolis area: Helly Hansen on Main Street, West Marine locations in Hillsmere & Jennifer Rd, Fawcett’s on Bay Ridge and Long & Foster Eastport on Sixth St. Tickets can also be purchased online at http://eastportyc.org/buy-tickets. The tickets are $10 in advance, and $15 at the door.

The Latitude Adjustment Party is Eastport Yacht Club’s way to throw a great block party for the community. Come early — and stay late — as we wish “fair winds and following seas” to those who will depart the next day for the race to Bermuda and as we recognize those chosen as the 2016 Outstanding Marine Wizards of our community.

Latitude refers to the Annapolis to Bermuda Race and the latitudes that will be crossed during the race. Adjustment refers to the Marine Wizards who make adjustments to boats and maintain the boats in tip-top condition — not to mention the “attitude adjustment” experienced as nice weather returns and days are longer.

WRNR (103.1 FM) will be supporting the event with music, competitions and giveaways. Listen to WRNR starting May 30 for the chance to win tickets to the Latitude Adjustment Party, concerts and more.  On Thursday, June 9, join EYC and WRNR at Eastport Yacht Club at 5:00PM , when the party kicks-off. The Tiki Barbarians will be providing live Caribbean music from 7:00-10:00 PM.  The Goslings Rum frozen t-shirt contest is not to be missed.  Come and support the Eastport Yacht Club’s Foundation — 50/50 raffle, a Caribbean themed photo booth, Dark & Stormy’s, and a frozen T-Shirt Contest.  American and Bermuda themed foods will be offered along with Gosling rum drinks, beer, wine and soft drinks, and the ever popular Rita’s Mango Italian Ice. I.Ds will be checked.

EYC has designated the EYC Foundation (EYCF) as the 2016 beneficiary of the event.  The EYC Foundation’s long-term vision connects kids with educational opportunities through sailing & boating.  EYCF programming raises awareness about marine & maritime career opportunities and about stewardship of our Bay, oceans, lakes and rivers.  Programs include: 5th grade STEM through Sailing & Boating; an annual Marine & Maritime Career Fair for grades 6-12+; scholarships for Jr. Sailing summer camps and Marine & Maritime Scholarships for college or technical training schools.  For more information, contact: Pam Ray, Chair, EYC Foundation, Cell:  703-244-0044, [email protected]
