If Saturday night’s ballgame was a hand in poker – the grouping of four Harrisburg triples overcame their five committed errors. In the end the Baysox dropped a seventh contest in their last eight by a 7-2 final.
Harrisburg, who entered the game with nine triples on the year, would get a triple in each inning from the third to the sixth. In the fourth inning, Chris Bostick tripled to leadoff the frame and scored on a Zach Collier single following. Then in the fifth, Isaac Ballou tripled home a run down the right field line and the Baysox trailed 4-1.
Bowie had an opportunity to rally though. After an unearned run following Harrisburg’s fifth error of the game in the sixth inning, Bowie loaded the bases in the seventh. With one down, Adrian Marin singled and went to third on a basehit from Julio Borbon. Borbon stole second and Jeff Kemp worked a walk. Harrisburg lifted starter Austen Williams for Nick Lee.
Lee struck out Henry Urrutia and then got Quincy Latimore to ground into a force play to end the possible rally. The Senators put the game away with a three-run eighth inning rally.
Williams got his first Eastern league win as Harrisburg moved to .500 with a fifth consecutive win. Baysox starter David Hess allowed four runs in five innings of work to fall to 2-2. The Baysox are 17-24 and have fallen to seven games below the .500 mark for the first time this season.
