Muddy Creek Arts Guild spring show starts tomorrow

muddy creek artists guildThe Muddy Creek Artists Guild (MCAG) is pleased to announce its 8th Annual Spring Art Show and Sale featuring original works in a variety of media created by more than 55 local artists who live and work in Southern Anne Arundel County.

The show is free and open to the public and will run Thursday, April 7 through Sunday, April 10 at the South River Colony Main Street Shopping Center in Edgewater, Maryland.  There are many special events planned throughout the show including live music and libations during evening receptions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  The show is judged and awards will be given during the reception on Friday evening. Along with art from Guild Members, students from South County Elementary Schools will also have art on display, and we will be hosting a student artist reception on Sunday, April 10, to honor and encourage these young artists. In addition, the Guild will also host Studio Intrepid on Saturday and Sunday where visitors will be able to experience some “hands on” art activities and see artist demonstrations.

MCAG President, Jennifer Heinz says “The Spring Show is always a wonderful showcase of new, original art pieces created by our talented member artists. Whether a visitor to the show is looking for a special piece of hanging artwork for their home,  handmade original jewelry as a gift, a piece of unique pottery, turned wood or fused glass bowl for use in entertaining, or even wearable batik clothing or hand-painted silk, the show will feature all that and much more. We warmly welcome new visitors, our longtime friends, and local art patrons to stop by, shop, and meet our artists.”
