Miles for Melanoma: Chesapeake Bay 5K April 23st

anne arundel dermotologyAnne Arundel Dermatology has partnered with the Melanoma Research Foundation to support the second annual Miles for Melanoma Chesapeake Bay 5K happening April 23, 2016. All proceeds from the event go to the largest independent organization devoted to melanoma education and prevention, the MRF.

Anne Arundel Dermatology will return for the second year as an event sponsor. With over 30 years of service to the community, this leading dermatology practice realizes the importance of skin cancer awareness and public health education.

Melanoma is one of the fastest growing cancers in the U.S. and can strike men and women of all ages, all races and skin types. It is the most common form of cancer for young adults 25- to 29- years-old and the second most common cancer in adolescents and young adults 15- to 29-years old.

Participants can register now for the 2016 Miles for Melanoma Chesapeake Bay 5k. Registrants have the option to create a fundraising team and a personalized fundraising page.

Early-bird registration ends on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. Race day registration increases by $25 per person on race day. Credit cards and checks only – no cash will be taken due to security issues.

There is also an opportunity to participate virtually for those unable to make it to the race.

Participants who choose to the virtual support option during registration will receive a discounted registration rate. Virtual participants are still eligible for all fundraising prizes (Champions shirt excluded.)

Last year’s event was a huge success, raising more than $44,000 for melanoma research, advocacy and education.
