Mike Yastrzemski named player of the week

Baysox 2016Baysox outfielder Mike Yastrzemski has been named Eastern League Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Apr. 24 after hitting safely in all seven games with six multi-hit games and three home runs. He is the first Baysox player to win an Eastern League weekly award this season.

 Yastrzemski hit .438 (14-32) with three doubles, three home runs, nine RBI and seven runs scored during the week. The grandson of Hall-of Famer Carl Yastrzemski, Mike currently owns an active eight-game hitting streak that has raised his batting average to .300 through the season’s first 15 games. The first six extra-base hits of the season for Yastrzemski have come in the past seven games, including three home runs during the four game home series against Harrisburg over the weekend.
