Chris Lee worked a season-high seven innings and the Baysox held on late to upend Harrisburg 3-2 on Saturday night. With the win, Lee became the third pitcher to four wins in the Eastern League.
Lee worked seven efficient innings, allowing six hits and a run to notch the win. He threw just 82 pitches to get through seven innings. He has won all four of his 2016 appearances.
Bowie grabbed the lead in the third inning. With Adrian Marin at second base and two down, Mike Yastrzemski doubled home Marin. The next man up, Corban Joseph lined an RBI-single to right field and the Baysox had a 2-0 lead.
The Baysox got a big insurance run in the eighth inning while up 2-1. After three walks had loaded the bases in the frame, Glynn Davis worked a fourth walk in a nine-pitch at-bat to make it 3-1.
Bowie got a solid scoreless eighth inning from Donnie Hart before Jason Stoffel came on for his second save ion as many nights. Stoffel gave up consecutive hits though to open the ninth and Harrisburg had a run in with the tying run at second base and no outs. Stoffel got a flyout and then consecutive strikeouts to save the game.
It was a third consecutive win and a tenth in the last 14 for Bowie. The Baysox end April with an 11-11 record in second place in the Eastern League’s West.
