Enjoy a day dedicated to family fun. Walk the 11-point self-guided trail, tour the 18th Century Farm House and learn the fascinating history of Goshen Farm, tour our organic Sharing Garden and high tunnel used to grow winter crops for local food banks, visit the Soil Health Pit for an informative discussion lead by the Assistant State Soil Scientist, meet our members and see our progress, visit the Henson-Hall Slave Garden created by local volunteers to recognize the 12 slaves who toiled at Goshen Farm and walk through the Goshen Farm Orchard recently planted in conjunction with the Stream Restoration Grant Project of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Participate in the colonial era children’s games and activities!

Our musical guests will be the very popular local artist Dirk Schwenk and the duo, Trekkie Jones (acoustic), a fixture at many local pubs. Ms. Victoria Garbesi will reprise her historic reenactment as Margaret Stinchcomb Tydings providing a delightful glimpse into life at Goshen Farm in the 1860s.

If you like oysters and like education, you will be particularly interested in the presentation by JD Blackwell, the owner of 38 North Oysters, and representatives of the Maryland Oyster Growers Association. They will discuss the latest applications of aquaculture and oyster harvesting and will have examples of the floats used to grow oysters is a sustainable manner. We’ll have fresh oysters plucked from the waters off Point Lookout that morning and available at a “Buck a Shuck” for you to sample or enjoy for your lunch.  If you are not into oysters, there will be burgers, hot dogs, and pulled pork sandwiches for sale.
