Dosch helps Baysox drive to a 4-3 comeback win

Baysox 2016Down early, the Baysox battled back from a three-run deficit to defeat Harrisburg in the series opener 4-3 on Friday night on City Island.

The Baysox scored twice in the third inning and then tied the game in the fourth with three consecutive one-out singles. Chance Sisco, Garabez Rosa and Drew Dosch all singled consecutively as Sisco scored the tying run to knot the game at 3-apiece.

In the sixth inning Bowie grabbed the lead for good. With a runner on and two down, Dosch singled and set the table for Glynn Davis. Davis lined a single the other way into left field to plate Sisco again and the Baysox were on top.

Bowie got a strong start from Parker Bridwell (1-0) who allowed just two hits in five and 1/3rd innings. Of the three runs Bridwell allowed, just one was earned. Ashur Tolliver worked through the seventh inning scoreless and gave way to Stefan Crighton who set Harrisburg down in order in the eighth inning.

Jason Stoffel came on for the ninth but a third Baysox error nearly stepped in the way of his fifth save of the year. A misplayed groundball by Garabez Rosa at short put a runner at 2nd with no outs. After a sac bunt moved Brenden Webb to third base, Stoffel struck out Zach Collier looking and got a line drive out to center off the bat of Stephen Perez to hang on.

The Baysox are now tied with Erie at 10-11 for second place in the Eastern League’s West. Corban Joseph’s two-hit night extended his Baysox high hit streak to 13 games. Big league rehabber Jimmy Paredes went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in the Baysox win.
