Art for Autism at Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge

artforautismLocal charity, The Avergan Foundation is thrilled to announce their upcoming fundraiser event, Art for Autism at Metropolitan Kitchen and Lounge (169 West Street) in Annapolis on April 23, 2016 from 7pm to 10pm. This event will raise money for their scholarship program for children on the autism spectrum. The event will feature an art show, which includes many local-known artists: Jimi Davies, Sara Fairbanks, Jeff Huntington, Darin Gilliam, Kathy Dennin-Meagher, Patrice Drago, Katherine Carney, Jordan Werre, Patricia Bennett and more!

The evening will include live music, food and signature drinks, along with a 50/50 raffle and a live auction that includes art created by children on the autism spectrum. Local area children with autism will be invited to create a piece of art to be included in the art show and a select few will be selected for the evening auction. The evening event is for ages 18 and over. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at: www.averganartforautism.eventbrite.com. The ticket cost is a donation to the Avergan Foundation scholarship fund.

Local artist, Jeff Huntington is donating an original painting of Nelson Mandela that will be auctioned off during the live auction that evening. Patricia Bennett will be live painting the event as it is happening and that painting will be auctioned off during the live auction. Artist Katherine Carney is donating three beautiful pieces of her art to be included as prizes in the raffle.

From 3pm to 5pm, on the same day, children and families will be invited to walk through the art exhibits free of charge. They will be able to see all of the art that will be on display during the evening in a quiet, bright and welcoming environment. Children with autism are creating art for the show and a select few will be included in the auction that evening.
