Alvarez Kings brings down the house at the 9:30 Club

| April 9, 2016

On Monday, March 28th, Alvarez Kings swept a sold out show at 9:30 Club off their feet. The band, hailing from England, opened for Melanie Martinez on her Cry Baby Tour. Their indie feel paired with their mesmerizing lyrics made for an awesome concert.

Alvarez Kings were electric, obviously enjoying their set. They even performed an acoustic song called Sleepwalking. Singer Simon Thompson has a beautiful voice that turned heads, quietly demanding the room’s attention. The song that captured my attention was Postcards from Berlin. It was ripe with emotion, yet strangely calming.

Alvarez Kings is no standard boy band, which is what I enjoy most about them. Their lyrics more resemble poetry than the empty songs so often heard on the radio. I highly recommend seeing Alvarez Kings live.

Unfortunately, their tour is now over and they are back across the ocean. However, you can stay up to date on their upcoming tours, music releases, and newest merch at their website, found here.
