Are you strong enough to pull a truck as part of a five-person team? How fast can you put together a customer’s order and get it ready for shipment? And, what’s the best way to load a truck for several deliveries?

Anne Arundel Community College students, faculty and staff, high school students and members of the community are invited to pit their strength and expertise against others in a series of events at the 5th Annual AACC Truck Pull from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 21, in Parking Lot C of the Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. The day’s events promote the college’s offerings in the fields of transportation, logistics, cargo security and supply chain management, as well as the opportunities for good-paying positions in the transportation industry.

In the Truck Pull, participants in teams of five pull an empty delivery truck over a course of approximately 90 feet with a rope. All teams are timed. The Supply Chain Relay lets participants compete to see who can move a client’s order through the supply chain accurately and at the fastest pace. Participants also can compete in the Load the Truck Relay using a logistical scientific process. And, participants can play the Passport Game by moving through booths staffed by representatives of local industries, trade associations and education departments to learn about academic and career pathways for the transportation, logistics and supply chain industries.

The transportation, logistics, cargo security and supply chain management programs are offered in AACC’s School of Business and Law. Visit http://www.aacc.edu/business to see all business programs.
