Back Hair Appreciation Night returns to the Bowie Baysox this season

baseball-picThe Bowie Baysox have announced  the final promotional schedule for the 2016 season. The schedule includes 20 fireworks nights, including a special display for the Fourth of July, plus Bowie’s Tribute to David Bowie on Friday, July 22 that will involve a special jersey auction. More exciting events will also be announced in the coming weeks. 

Your favorite Wizards and Witches are coming to P.G. Stadium Saturday, July 23 as the Baysox celebrate their inaugural Harry Potter Night with pregame Quidditch Match. The always popular Star Wars Night makes its return Saturday, June 25 and it will be joined on the Baysox promotional schedule by Star Trek Night Saturday, May 7. And back by popular demand – Back Hair Appreciation Night returns for a second chapter as the Baysox go “Back to the Roots!”

Baysox Marketing Director Brandan Kaiser is excited to unveil some new theme nights this season. “The fireworks nights are always fan favorites, but we have plenty of other great events planned this season to ensure our fans are always entertained,” Kaiser said.  “We are very excited to debut our Harry Potter Night and kids will also want to make sure they don’t miss our postgame Helicopter Candy Drop Sunday, May 29.” 

While the whole family can enjoy fireworks, the Baysox have a slew of activities planned for younger fans, highlighted by appearances from many of your kids’ favorite TV/movie characters. The Baysox will celebrate PAW Patrol Day with Chase, Skye and Marshall Sunday, April 24 and Daniel Tiger from Maryland Public Television will make an appearance at the Baysox game Sunday, June 5. The Baysox have partnered with Coder Kids Club for the first ever Minecraft Fest at PG Stadium Sunday, April 10 and the Touch-A-Truck event returns Saturday, Aug. 27, presented by Miss Utility. Plus, kids (and parents) will be able to meet their favorite Clubhouse Characters on Sunday, July 24, their favorite Superheroes on Saturday, July 16 and the Minions on Sunday, Aug. 7.

Young Baysox fans can enjoy special exclusive events for members of Louie’s Kids Club each month of the season. Back for a fourth season, all Kids Club members can eat free on Sundays with a special ticket purchased online in advance. Members also get a free gift at the first game they attend each season. The Baysox have weekly recurring promotions that last throughout the season. Monday nights will again be Mutt Mondays (excluding July 4), where fans can bring their dogs to the game. On Tailgate Tuesdays, fans can enter the ballpark early for batting practice and enjoy $2 draft beer specials in the Bud Light Picnic Pavilion from 5 p.m. until the start of the game. On Tuesday, fans can also enjoy Dollar Dog Night where hot dogs are just $1 from the time the main gates open until the 7th inning stretch (Limit 2 hot dogs per person, per transaction). The Baysox will again show their Orioles Pride by celebrating Orange Wednesday on a select Wednesday each month. During those games, fans who wear Baysox or Orioles gear will receive $5 off a box seat purchased at the ticket office the day of the game. One Wednesday of every month is also Military Appreciation Night, where anyone able to show proof of military service can purchase a box seat ticket for $8. 

Returning for the 2016 season is the Baysox Silver Sox Senior Club, sponsored by Hearing Professionals. The Silver Sox program is free to join and open to anyone age 55 and older. Throughout the season, the team is hosting five exclusive events for members of the Silver Sox program. Tickets to each event are $17 and include: suite level seating, a two-hour all-you-can-eat pasta bar, cookies and unlimited iced tea & lemonade.
