Victoria Bayless, president and CEO of Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, was appointed to the Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC) by Governor Larry Hogan. The HSCRC is a state agency that sets the rates for Maryland’s hospitals.
Bayless joins six other commissioners who serve for four years and are charged with oversight of the HSCRC. The primary responsibility of the commission is to review and approve reasonable hospital rates and publicly disclose information on the costs and financial performance of Maryland hospitals.
This is Bayless’ first gubernatorial appointment. Bayless serves on various healthcare industry boards including those associated with the American Hospital Association, United Way of Central Maryland, CareFirst and Johns Hopkins Homecare Group. She has been the president and CEO of AAMC since 2011.
