Quantum Communications opens Annapolis office

Quantum CommunicationsQuantum Communications, a leading mid-Atlantic strategic communications firm that provides that provides strategy, advocacy and media services to businesses, trade associations and political campaigns has opened an Annapolis, Maryland office.

David Reel, former President and CEO of the Maryland Hotel & Lodging Association (MH&LA), will manage Quantum’s Annapolis office and serve Quantum clients in Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia and Delaware. Reel worked at Quantum Communications from 2003 through 2004.

“Quantum Communications is thrilled to mark our fifteenth year of public relations and communications excellence by expanding our presence in Annapolis,” said Quantum Partner Scott Staruch. “Dave was instrumental in the early days of the firm, and we’re delighted to have him back at Quantum Communications.”

 While serving as MH&LA President and CEO, Reel managed numerous successful advocacy campaigns. A proficient coalition builder, Reel launched and managed a coalition of 15 organizations advocating for a post Labor Day public school start in Maryland. That effort was recognized by the International Society of Hotel Association Executives with an Excellence in Government Affairs Award.

Reel holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives. He has served on the adjunct faculty at the University of Virginia’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies, the faculty at the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organization Management and was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors at the Central Chesapeake Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
