Linked InThe Central Chesapeake chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has selected LinkedIn marketing expert Brandon Gulley as the guest speaker at its next program. The program will be held noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 18, at Union Jack’s British Pub, 2072 Somerville Road in Annapolis. Gulley will explain how to use LinkedIn as a powerful marketing and PR tool to get organizations noticed by the target audience selected. Gulley has been offering LinkedIn workshops to rave reviews in the Washington area for more than three years. The program includes lunch and the cost is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Please reserve online at www.prsachesapeake.org by Tuesday, February 16. Call 410-271-1498 for more information.

“PR and marketing folks need to break through to reporters as well as business prospects. I will lead the group through this process with little known LinkedIn tools,” said Gulley. He recently conducted a LinkedIn workshop for the headquarters staff of the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.

Gulley will lead the group through the three different types of LinkedIn sites for companies, special interest groups and individuals. He will demonstrate how to create specialized marketing lists and lead the group through the “warm way” to connect with a prospect. Participants will learn about new apps that make LinkedIn the best social platform for business. He will teach participants to utilize search functions and groups to connect with more of the people they need to know. John Myrah, Senior Associate at Aflac said, “Brandon is one of the smartest persons I have met. His ability to articulate his ideas one-on-one or in a group is unmatched. I recommend him to everyone.”

Gulley is president of Modern Mind Connections, a business education firm based in Annapolis. He founded it to help businesses grow to be more successful. Offering LinkedIn marketing workshops is part of the overall education. After 15 years as a successful corporate sales executive in the financial services industry and fundraising for various charitable causes, he founded his firm three years ago.
