Get Schooled with Mr. Root
Jamaal ‘Mr. Root’ Collier, a dedicated and versatile professional Hip-Hop artist returns to AACPL to present interactive, family-friendly concerts. Come and learn about the history of Hip Hop and try your hand at rapping, free styling and beatboxing while enjoying this concert.

African American Book Experience
The Library is partnering with the Banneker-Douglass Museum to provide an opportunity for students to celebrate Black History Month through literature.
Students in grades K-12, who live in Anne Arundel County, are eligible to participate. Visit your local library, check out an African American book of your choice, read it, do the activity sheet and return it to the library to be entered into the grand prize drawing. One winner will be selected in elementary, middle and high school categories. Submission Deadline is March 4, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.
(Note: A special celebration party will be held at the Banneker-Douglass Museum on Saturday, March 12 from 1-3 p.m. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for Saturday, April 30. )
