Hearts & Hounds Mall Crawl on February 28th to benefit the SPCA

| February 25, 2016

spcaJoin the SPCA and Heart Health Foundation for Hearts & Hounds Mall Crawl 2016- a fun dog-friendly event and leisurely walk through the Annapolis Mall in support of Heart Health Month.

The SPCA and Heart Health Foundation are two of Anne Arundel County’s leading non-profits and they are joining forces again to promote their shared mission. Saving people and the pets they love. It has been firmly established that owning a pet reduces one’s risk of having a heart attack, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol and increases heart healthy physical activity. By supporting this event you will bring lasting happiness and longevity to area residents.

The Hearts & Hounds Mall Crawl will take place on Sunday, February 28th, at the  Annapolis Mall beginning at 8am until 10am. Starting tables will be located at the mall entrance in between Macy’s & Maggiano’s Italian Restaurant.  All walkers who donate $10 or more will receive an official Hearts & Hounds Mall Crawl t-shirt while supplies last.

I wish I could participate in events like this but, alas, they are scheduled during church time! I guess Christians are not included?

My guess is that the Mall is the one dictating the times and hours so as not to infringe on the precious retail shopping hours! A good friend used to own a store there. A very close family member died and he could not make it in to open on time. They refused to give him a break and threatened a fine of $100/hour (it was in the lease) for every hour the store was not open when the mall was open. Ultimately he sent a neighbor to the store and told them to open the gates, turn on the lights and tell customers to go away. The mall is very self centered!
