Schuh to participate in ‘Shop With A Cop’ this weekend

Shop with a Cop 2010Anne Arundel County Executive Steve Schuh will participate in the Twelfth Annual “Shop with a Cop” program this Saturday in Pasadena.

“The ‘Shop with a Cop’ Program helps our children enjoy the holiday season and appreciate those who protect all of us,” said Schuh. “I thank the Optimist Clubs of Annapolis and Fort Smallwood for organizing this fun Christmas event.”

The December 5th event will begin at the Wal-Mart on Ritchie Highway in Pasadena. Sixty children from Anne Arundel County will be given an opportunity to “Shop with a Cop” and buy Christmas gifts for their families.

Police officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department will accompany the children participating on their Christmas adventure.  The children will be given gift cards to purchase gifts for loved ones for the holiday season.

The County Executive, Deputy Police Chief William Krampf, and members of the Optimist Clubs will then help wrap the gifts at the Outback Steakhouse at 7744 Governor Ritchie Hwy, Harundale Plaza, Glen Burnie at 8:30 am.

“I look forward to helping strengthen the bond between our police department and the next generation of Anne Arundel County citizens,” said Schuh.
