Giant Food opened the doors of its new store located at 1155 Annapolis Road in Odenton on Friday, December 11,at 6:00 a.m. The store, located in the Odenton Shopping Center, employs 150 associates.
The grand opening of the new Odenton Giant was be celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony with Giant leadership, local elected officials, and business leaders on Thursday, December 10.
“We are very excited to bring a brand new 63,000-square foot Giant store to anchor the Odenton Shopping Center,” said Gordon Reid, President, Giant Food of Landover, Md. “It is our pleasure to serve Odenton residents and the surrounding Fort Meade community with an enhanced shopping experience to help customers save money, save time, and eat well.”
The Odenton Giant includes a variety of updated features and amenities throughout the store, such as a new, market-style produce section with an expanded selection of organic produce. Customers will find all of their meat, bakery, grocery, and dairy needs in the impressive 63,000-square foot store, including a full-service deli featuring Boars Head premium meats and gourmet cheeses, as well as complete meat and seafood departments with fresh seafood and meat selections from Giant’s in-store butcher.
Giant at Odenton also features a ‘Bakery of the Future,’ offering a delicious variety of fresh baked goods, including a variety of Nature’s Promise artisan breads and delicious items from Giant’s muffin cart, bagel bin, and bread bar. Customers will also enjoy the store’s expansive grab-and-go prepared foods section, including freshly rolled sushi by Giant’s in-house sushi chef, a fresh pizza station, an extensive assortment of prepared hot food options, and a fresh fruit and salad bar.
Odenton customers are encouraged to take advantage of the convenience of a full-service Giant Pharmacy, an on-site PNC Bank, and an in-store Starbucks café with a spacious seating area and complimentary Wi-Fi. The Odenton location will also feature Giant’s leading in-store technologies including “SCAN IT!” hand-held devices, which allow customers to scan and bag their groceries while they shop to allow for speedier checkout.
The new Giant, located in what was formerly a Super Fresh store, has been renovated from top to bottom with state-of-the-art technology to reduce energy consumption and the environmental impact of operations.
