Fire destroys garage in Davidsonville

Rossback 1It took approximately 60 firefighters one hour to control a two-alarm garage fire in Davidsonville Wednesday afternoon. Around 12:20 p.m. firefighters responded to the 1600 block of Rossback Road for a reported garage on fire. Arriving firefighters found a one-story, detached garage/storage building associated with a landscaping company fully involved in fire. The shed measured approximately 50-feet by 30-feet. A second alarm was requested due to the area being a non-hydrant area and the need to establish a consistent supply of water to fight the fire and also for additional personnel. Firefighters from Anne Arundel County were assisted by firefighters from Prince George’s and Queen Anne’s Counties, the City of Annapolis and the Naval Academy. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Anne Arundel Fire and Arson Investigation Unit, and no dollar loss has been established. There were no injuries.
