Anne Arundel County, through the Department of Public Works, this year donated hundreds of gifts for its annual “Angel Tree” Program, which helps families in need during the holiday season.

“We have been encouraging citizens from across the county to make a real effort to help the less fortunate this holiday season,” said County Executive Steve Schuh. “This annual program is one way our county government steps up to help those in need.”

Schuh, along with other county officials, spent Friday afternoon helping load a truck with gifts.  DPW will then work with the Department of Social Services and the Saint Vincent DePaul Society to ensure families in need are supplied with enough gifts for the holiday.

Anne Arundel County and the Department of Public Works have sponsored the “Angel Tree” Program since 1987.
