Chocolate Binge Festival coming to West Street on December 6th

Screenshot 2015-11-23 15.25.59The Inner West Street Association and The Annapolis Arts District have joined forces to bring another unique street festival to downtown Annapolis for the holidays. On Sunday December 6th from noon to 5pm on the first block of West Street will be the First Annapolis Chocolate Binge Festival, featuring family friendly entertainment, chocolate, holiday shopping and the lighting of the new West Street Light Canopy.

Start off the December holidays season with some fun and indulge your sweet tooth at the first annual Annapolis Chocolate Binge Festival, to benefit the Annapolis Arts District and We Care and Friends.  The day is loaded with family friendly fun. There is a giant gingerbread house moon bounce for the kids, you can roast marsh mellows and make smores at the fire pit in the middle of West Street with Sparky from the Annapolis Fire Department, get your picture taken with Lady Godiva, get a balloon animal, and visit Santa. Santa will be collecting toys, coats and hats for the We Care and Friends Holiday Party for the areas homeless and kids in need.

Take a chocolate tour along West Street with a dozen vendors selling various chocolate specialties , including chocolate caramels, bars, truffles, fudge, cookies, rice crispies, fondue, martinis and more.

You can also complete your holiday shopping at our holiday market at the Annapolis Chocolate Binge Festival featuring local craftspeople with a wide range of handmade items including jewelry, pottery, candles wood turnings, glass blowing and more. Plus visit the many galleries in downtown Annapolis for other unique gifts.

The entertainment starts off at noon with the Band Fast as Lightning. These local kids are getting noticed and are destined for stardom. Over the last few months they have played  at The Annapolis Fringe Festival, MRE Tug of War and opened for Soul Asylum at the 9:30Club.

 1:pm the Johnson Male Chorus from Severna Park takes the stage. This group has been singing high energy gospel music in the community for over 60 years.

 2:40pm Mr Parker brings dance to the stage

3pm Blind Squirrel and the Nuts lights up the stage with

4pm The ugly sweater contest begins. Where your favorite ugly holiday sweater and you could be selected to win tickets to Hersey Park.

5pm The new West Street Light Canopy will be turned on for all to enjoy.

Admission is just a $5 suggested donation for adults (kids are free with parents). Money raised from the festival will support the Annapolis Arts District. Everyone making a donation will get a complimentary Hot chocolate from the air stream camper.

Plenty of easy parking is nearby on Calvert Street at Whitmore Parking Garage, Gotts Court Parking Garage and the State Parking Garage.
