AP_Hol250x300_FullCalendarAnnapolis will be aglow with holiday cheer, seasonal music & entertainment, fun photo opportunities and a visit from Santa! Join your neighbors for Midnight Madness, Thursday, December 3rd and 10th, and Eleventh Hour on the 17th when stores remain open until midnight for holiday shopping (Until 11pm on the 17th).

Annapolitans and visitors revel in these three evenings of late night shopping fun in historic Annapolis.  This year will feature the largest and most diverse lineup of talent. Come see why we were voted one of America’s Best Towns for the Holidays by Travel & Leisure magazine.

Annapolis will welcome several Midnight Madness ‘first timers’ including The Magothy River Middle School Band and Chorus, the Chesapeake Revelers (in period costumes) and the Arundelair Chorus. Chabad of AA County will light the menorah and sing traditional Hannukah songs in Susan Campbell Park. A great young rock band, Fast as Lightning, will perform on the 17th. The band members are between 9 and 14 years old! They have learned quite a few Christmas Carols for this performance.

Midnight Madness Event Producer, Judy Buddensick, shared another new feature this year “it’s HoHo with the PoPo! Stop and sip a cup of hot chocolate with some of Annapolis’ finest. Take a minute and get to know your local law enforcement team, even better that your kids will know how approachable our police force is, if they ever need them. Midnight Madness, where else can you sip CoCo with the PoPo?!”

“The Old Mill High School Steel Drum Band, under the direction of Mike Miller, has performed at Midnight Madness for more than 18 years. They are part of the Midnight Madness legacy,” Buddensick continued. “Sons of the Severn will be strolling uptown and downtown, as will another newbie, Severn School Lower School Chorus.”

Line Up for December 3: Bay Area Community Church, Cousin Eddie, Old Mill High School Steel Drum Band, Dance Center of Severna Park, Jocelyn Faro, HoHo with the PoPo, Severn Lower School Chorus, The Salvation Army Band, The Chesapeake Revelers, WNAV and WRNR broadcasting live.

Line Up for December 10: Menorah Lighting, Bay Area Community Church, Cousin Eddie, The Salvation Army Band, St. Anne’s Middle School Chorus, All Children’s Chorus of Annapolis, HoHo with the PoPo, Wiley H Bates Performing Arts Chorus, Arundelair Chorus, Joliana from Chasing Verity, Sons of the Severn Chorus, Freedom Choir, The Chesapeake Revelers, WNAV and WRNR broadcasting live.

Line Up for December 17: Sons of The Severn Chorus, Bay Area Community Church, The Salvation Army Band, Fast as Lightning, Temple Beth Shalom Children’s Chorus, HoHo with the PoPo, Voice of Pride, Magothy River Middle School Band and Chorus, Joliana from Chasing Verity, The Chesapeake Revelers, Ridgely Retreat/Stretch for Shopping Yoga Warm-up and WNAV and WRNR broadcasting live.

Annapolis will sparkle with the dazzling holiday decorations you have come to expect from Midnight Madness. Snowflake Alley is back by popular demand. This cheery shortcut from Main Street to the shops on State Circle and Maryland Avenue was trending on social media last year. Be sure to snap a photo and post or tweet it — #SnowFlakeAlley.

Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis returns as the sponsor of the Annapolis Holidays the 5th year in a row. “We are so pleased to align ourselves with the Annapolis Partnership during this holiday season.  This is a fantastic opportunity to support all of the local businesses throughout the Annapolis community. We love it.” said Paul LaRochelle of Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis.  AP President Steve Samaras added “We couldn’t do this without the support of Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis. They enable us to continue this great Annapolis tradition.   Residents, businesses and visitors all enjoy the jubilant atmosphere of historic Annapolis during the holiday season.”

There are plenty of parking options downtown to attend the events. The City of Annapolis is providing FREE valet parking Thursday-Sunday from November 27 through December 24. The Valet Tent is in Market Space. The 2 hour metered spaces are FREE for THREE hours this year (from Thanksgiving through New Year’s), and the Circulator Trolley picks up near all the city’s parking garages and throughout downtown to provide FREE shuttle rides; shoppers can hit every shop in town. (Detailed parking info can be found on the AP website.)
