AACC offers potpourri of holiday crafts, cookies, and shows

HOLIDAY GIFTS AND TOYS

Nov. 30 – 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Annual Ceramics Sale, sponsored by Anne Arundel Community College’s ceramics club, Keramos; pottery and sculpture created by AACC ceramics students and visual arts faculty, Cade Center for Fine Arts Room 219, AACC Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway.

Through Dec. 21 – Toys for Tots collection site at the AACC Public Safety and Police department, Central Services Building, College Drive (second entrance off College Parkway), AACC Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. Featured are Peter Mennin’s classic work for wind band, “Canzona,” Alfred Reed’s “Russian Christmas Music,” W. Francis McBeth’s “Of Sailors and Whales,” drawn from Melville’s “Moby Dick,” and a composition by Annapolis composer Randy Neilson; Robert E. Nov. 28 – 10 a.m.-noon “Symbolic Wreath” (FLR 316); create a 10-inch wreath of fragrant herbs, accented with red roses, berries and holly; $45; Willow Oak Herb Farm, 8109 Telegraph Road, Severn, Md.

Dec. 4 – 6:30-9:30 p.m. “Your Holiday Table” (GME 393), learn to prepare holiday dishes, hors d’oeuvres and platters; $67; Humanities Building Room 207 on Anne Arundel Community College’s Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway; must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. 

Dec. 5 – 10 a.m.-noon “Evergreen Wreath” (FLR 320); weave an 18-to-20-inch wreath for the door, using a variety of evergreen boughs from Willow Oak Herb Farm gardens; $47; Willow Oak Herb Farm, 8109 Telegraph Road, Severn, Md.

Dec. 6 – 10 a.m.-2 p.m. “Special Holiday Cookies” (COO 314), learn to make holiday cookies and leave with a box to share; $77; Humanities Building Room 218 on Anne Arundel Community College’s Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway; must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.

Dec. 12 – 9 a.m.-1 p.m. “Cookie Extravaganza” (YOH 809), Kids in College offers youth a chance to make and share assorted holiday cookies with friends and classmates; $65; Anne Arundel Community College’s Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway; must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.

Dec. 19 – 10 a.m.-noon “Fresh Flower Christmas Arrangement” (FLR 314); create a tabletop arrangement from red and white roses, white and green mums, lilies, spray roses, fresh greens and carnations, $70; bring a sharp pocketknife, small wire cutters and scissors; Willow Oak Herb Farm, 8109 Telegraph Road, Severn, Md.
