Returning to St. John’s College for the eighth consecutive year, the Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet will perform music by Beethoven, Augusta Read Thomas, and Schumann. The concert, which is free and open to public, will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium on Friday, October 30 at 8 p.m.
The New York Times describes the Parker Quartet as “something extraordinary” and the Boston Globe applauds their “fiercely committed performances.” Recipients of the Cleveland Quartet Award and the first-ever Artists-in-Residence with Minnesota Public Radio and American Public Media, the Parker Quartet is an audience favorite at St. John’s.
The program will include Beethoven’s Quartet No.11 in F Minor, Op.95 “Serioso”, Augusta Read Thomas’ “Helix Spirals”, and Schumann’s Quartet in A minor, Op.41 No.1.
