A two-alarm fire Thursday morning in a condominium building under construction in Odenton did approximately $200,000 damage. Just after 9:30 a.m. construction workers in the building called 911 reporting smoke on the fourth floor of the four-story building. Arriving firefighters observed heavy smoke coming from a fourth-floor condominium unit towards the rear of the building. A second alarm was requested which brought 50 firefighters from Anne Arundel County, Fort Meade and BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport to the scene. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in about 50 minutes, containing the fire to the unit and floor of origin. The fire is under investigation by members of the Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit.
