fatal-accidentOn October 31st, 2015 at approximately 3:45am officers responded to a single vehicle crash on the exit ramp from MD Rt. 695 east onto MD Rt. 10 south (Arundel Expressway).

Preliminary investigation revealed that a silver Nissan Xterra SUV, operated by Brian Michael Tiesi , 29 of Glen Burnie,  was exiting from eastbound MD Rt. 695 onto southbound MD Rt. 10 when the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons. The vehicle struck the guardrail on the west side of the roadway, causing it to rotate across the southbound lanes of the ramp. The vehicle then left the roadway on the east side of the roadway, rolled and come to rest on the passenger side.

The driver of the vehicle was not properly restrained by a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle as a result of the rollover. The driver was declared dead at the scene by fire department personnel.

The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be driver error. Speed did not appear to be a factor but there were possible signs of alcohol use.

Traffic Safety is handling the investigation.
