4th Avenue fire in Glen Burnie displaces 11

FD_BannerEleven people have been displaced following a dwelling fire Monday night in Glen Burnie. Around 9:20 p.m. firefighters were dispatched for the report of smoke coming from a home in the 100 block of 4th Avenue SE. Arriving units reported smoke from a two-story, single family dwelling. Forty firefighters brought a basement fire under control in about 15 minutes. Damages from the fire are estimated at $100,000. There were no injuries. The Red Cross was requested to assist six adults and five children who were displaced as a result of the fire. The fire is under investigation by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit.
