DoubleTree’s Port of Call’s McKnew wins crab soup cookoff

DoubleTree by Hilton Annapolis is proud to announce that Charles McKnew, executive chef of the hotel’s signature restaurant Ports of Call won first place People’s Choice Award at the 2015 Maryland Seafood Festival Crab Soup Cook-Off for his original Cream of Crab Soup. A local favorite and longtime competitor, McKnew has now won the People’s Choice Award more than six times for his famed soup. 

McKnew excels in authentic, regional fare, using fresh ingredients that capture the local flavor to create his sought-after dishes at Ports of Call in DoubleTree by Hilton Annapolis. Among McKnew’s signature dishes include his Maryland Crab Cakes with Corn Salsa, Crab Stack with Avocado, Mango and Dijon Remoulade and Rockfish Annapolitan with Wild Rockfish and Jump Lump Crab Imperial Gratinee.
