Woman raped in Harbormaster rest room, arrest made

On Saturday September 5th a 21 year old woman reported a rape that occurred earlier in Annapolis in the bathrooms located at the Harbormaster’s Office.  
In the early morning hours of September 5th the 21 year old woman was out with a group of people in downtown Annapolis. At 3 a.m. the woman went to the bathroom at the Harbormaster’s Office at 1 Dock Street. One of the men from the group followed her into the bathroom and sexually assaulted her.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect, Michael Avram, 24, of Severn. Avram has been arrested and will be charged with first and second degree rape, first and second degree assault, and false imprisonment. Avram has not been seen for his initial hearing before the District Court Commissioner.
