First Sunday Arts Festival on tap for October 4th

On Sunday October 4^th The Annapolis Arts and Entertainment District welcomes the fall season with the popular First Sunday Arts Festival on Calvert and West Streets in Annapolis, MD from 11am to 5pm.

Thousands of people enjoy this free monthly event in downtown Annapolis as the First Sunday Arts festival brings over 100 with local and regional artists and crafters selling handcrafted items along West and Calvert Streets. You will find hand painted scarves, wood turnings, jewelry, clothes, pottery, paintings, photography, hand blown glass, furniture, books, metal sculptures, home decor and more. As an added bonus the new Wine by Design studio at 32 West Street will be open for the October 4^th festival.

The restaurants and cafes along West Street will be ready to satisfy your Oktoberfest cravings with Oom-Pah Burgers, Stein and Wurst and Black Forest Pancakes at Rams Head Tavern and Oktoberfest beers at Stan and Joe’s Saloon.

The day is packed with entertainment on Calvert and West Streets starting at noon with the Jeremy Ragsdale Singers, Rocky Jones, 3 til Midnight and Johnathan Stone. From 2:30 to 4:30pm the second wave of music begins with Leigh, Gary and Ahern, Sham Rouges, and Mythica. Plus throughout the day is story time by JNP Project and balloon sculptures for the kids.

After the First Sunday Arts festival the after parties begin at many of the restaurants along West Street starting at 5pm with Art receptions at 49 West Coffeehouse and Gallery, Gospel Sushi at Tsunami, and Music on the back patio at Rams Head Tavern.

The First Sunday arts Festival is always a free admission arts festival and offers plenty of easy parking options with Whitmore Garage and Gott’s Court Garage being located right next to the festival on Calvert Street and free parking is located about 2 blocks away and the State Parking Garage on the corner of Calvert and Bladen Streets.
