Home destroyed and 4 displaced after Deale house fire

Four people were displaced and a house destroyed in a late afternoon fire Thursday in Deale.

Just before 5:30 p.m. units were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire in the 200 block of Jewell Road. Arriving units reported a two story single family dwelling, approximately 1500 feet off the road, fully involved in fire.


Forty-five firefighters from Anne Arundel, Prince George’s and Calvert Counties brought the fire under control in about an hour. There were no injuries. The Red Cross is assisting four displaced adults.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimate is available.
